Transportation Options: Maceio
Airports
When you are booking a flight to Maceio, you will
arrive at the Palamares Maceió Airport. The airport is located
about 14 miles north of the downtown area of Maceio. You can catch
a taxi into town without difficulty.
Within Brazil you can catch flight to Maceio from
Rio, Sao Paulo and Brasilia without any difficulty. There are also
a number of flights to and from other large cities in the northern
part of Brazil.
Bus
There are a number of bus lines into and out of
Maceio. All the major cities in the region such as Recife and Salvador
can be reached by bus. The bus to Recife will take about 4 hours,
and the ride to Salvador will take you 10 hours. If you are feeling
adventurous you can take the 36 hour bus to Rio. There are a variety
of stations within Maceio servicing different routes. Check with
the Portuguese language school in Maceio if you need to get a bus
and are not sure which one to take or which station to go to.
Getting Around Maceio
Once you are in Maceio, you will find that the
city is pretty easy to get around. First off the Portuguese language
school is just off a major public transpiration line, which will
